About dragon hand martial art

Dragon Hand Martial Arts incorporates Southern style Kung Fu dating from the early 15th century along with Kuntao Silat from the mountains of Indonesia and the Malay Archipelago. Below is some brief history on our two founding arts.
Shaolin Kung Fu is an ancient martial arts born in the Shaolin Temples of China. Created by monks as a form of self-defense as well as a meditation and a form of longevity training. This system has developed and grown over centuries into what is taught today. Dragon Hand Martial Arts incorporates a multitude different styles including, Tiger, Monkey, Mantis, Leopard, and many more all from the Shao Lin umbrella. Along with the external martial arts, Dragon Hand continues to teach the internal arts such as Tai Chi, Pa Kua, and Xingi. Dragon Hand Martial Arts incorporates training from a multitude of other masters. Students train with many other Shaolin Kung Fu masters including Master Micheal Reid, Elder Master Garry Mullins, Elder Master Gary Grooms and many more.
Kuntao Silat born from the mountains of Indonesia as well as the Malay Archipelago. Kuntao is an umbrella term referring to a multitude of southern Asian martial arts. Silat has been evolving and adapted for centuries to suit the needs of its many practitioners. Kuntao Silat encompasses a wide range of martial skills with a strong focus on bladed weapons used for attacking as well as defense, evasion as well body manipulation. Guru Bahati Mershant a direct pupil of Pendekar Willem de Thouars also known as Uncle Willem has decades of Kuntao Silat experience. He has been kind enough to share this knowledge with us over the years as well as visiting once a year to teach students this ancient art.
